What if You Untrashitfy trash?

Have you ever come home to a pile of mail by your door, only to throw more than half of them away? Does the mere act of putting them in the recycling ease your conscience? What if I tell you only 60% of that is actually recycled?
As a junior in high school, I currently have a large shipping box full of useless college mail, which constitutes enough paper to murder a 160 pound tree. My 2 person family contributes 3 large bags to the garbage collecting truck each week, and every Monday, I see enough trash bags to cover entire driveway entrances next to every house on my way to school.
Many of this cannot be helped, but we can reduce our large amounts of waste products by simply being more creative and not waste our waste. Does that make sense? (obviously I’m not the most eloquent person in the world)
On this blog, I will find things around my house that will otherwise go to the recycling or trash and turn them into something useful. Whether you want helpful tutorials that only require householdy stuff, or if you want to learn about ways you can personally help the environment, however small it may be, or if you just want to see what kinds of weird things that I come up with, subscribe and follow my journey!
